[If anyone was walking around Discedo, you'll probably spot a soldier standing against a building. That wouldn't be too unusual of a sight, except that this soldier had a giant red, white, and blue shield strapped to his back. He also didn't seem to be bothered by the rain, but he was also wearing a blue helmet with a giant A in the middle of it.

Anyway, there was a small frown on his face as he worked the communicator in his hands, obviously not used to this kind of technology. However, he'll get at least the basic video function working in a few minutes.]

Is... is this working? [Steve looked at the video feed with a somewhat confused expression. He was uncertain about using this thing in the first place, but with his enhanced abilities suddenly disappearing and the thought of the serum only being temporary because of that, he decided to use it. Besides, he wanted to find Bucky and the others as fast as possible. Sneaking around in this place didn't really get him anywhere.]

This is... Captain America. [He seemed a little awkward admitting that.] Does anyone the coordinates of our current location? Or a brief description will help as well.

If you mean the city, it's called Discedo. The planet is known as Fortuna in an ironic kind of way.

Fortuna... [Steve repeats to himself, still unsure if this was all true. However, it would explain why it suddenly started to rain and why he was nowhere near the forest anymore.]

Is it true that a group of scientists kidnapped us?

It's true.

[A pause.]

What have you been told so far?

That's all the information I've gathered so far.

Is there something else I should know? Or do you know how these scientists brought us here?

[Yeah, several.]

Quite a bit actually. It's best if we go inside for it rather than stay out here; monsters have a nice habit of attacking at random.

Monsters? [However, Steve nods in agreement. It seems that this person holds a lot of information.] Are the scientists responsible for them as well?

Yeah, more than the average bump-in-the-night ones parents tell to their kids.

[He's explaining this while heading into the nearest apartment building, which happens to be Horton.]

Seems like the planet might bring them in more than the scientists unless you count the time when all those pets came in at once.

There's another thing you need to know so don't mind me asking this but do you have any special abilities?

[Steve follows Adam into the building, noting its structure.]

I have abilities, but they're not special. [The soldier rubs the back of his head, but he means what he said.]

Anything above average for a normal human is something special. Which is why everyone who comes here also has another little gift courtesy of the 'higher powers': a chip that suppresses those abilities hidden in their body somewhere.

A chip? [An image of a potato chip popped in his mind, but Steve figured that wasn't what Adam meant.]

Something bad if you depend on them. But a doctor can take it out without any worry. Well, except if powers go absolutely crazy for a week.

[He's learned his lesson from Makoto's own removal.]

But once this chip is gone, my abilities will return? [While he still would fight for justice and all that good jazz, even Steve has to admit that having his abilities back would definitely help him.]

[A pause.]

Sorry for not doing this earlier; I'm Adam.

[It's also good to know that the serum isn't wearing out like he originally thought.]

[He holds a hand out to him.] Steve Rogers. It's nice to meet you, Adam.

[And the ranger takes it, shaking it firmly.]

And you as well, Steve. I'm guessing from your clothes that you were in the middle of a fight or something really important.

[Nods.] World War II. Rescue mission.

They really know how to pull them out don't they?

[Shaking head.]

I should tell you this before someone starts freaking out but these people...well, they can pull anyone from anywhere and anytime. Including about 70 years apart.

They really do.

[Surprised.] How is that possible? They're using a machine?

The same one that brings us here. I've heard quite a few different times like 1937 up to 2012. Could be earlier or further than what I know.

[Wow, 2012? That seems so far away. Steve wonders if there's flying cars then. Maybe Howard or at least his ideas helped with that.]

That's really amazing... [However, Steve soon shakes his head.] But they shouldn't bring people here against their will.

Would've been better if they asked first but honestly, even with all the crazy and chaos, there's good here. If it wasn't for this place, I wouldn't have met the friends I have now.

I believe that. [He smiles a bit.] There's good in every place.

Heh, glad you think so.

[He looks around the area.]

Well, until we all get out of here, you'll need a place to stay. Just as long as the apartment is not occupied, you can take it. Kind of first come, first served.

[With all these new circumstances, it seems that he'll have to find a temporary location.] Is there any form of currency here?

Nope, some do trading while some just give their services for free. I'm part of the second group because training and sparring is pretty much a given if you want to make sure to keep the monsters off your back.
