discedo | [Action/Video] 001

[If anyone was walking around Discedo, you'll probably spot a soldier standing against a building. That wouldn't be too unusual of a sight, except that this soldier had a giant red, white, and blue shield strapped to his back. He also didn't seem to be bothered by the rain, but he was also wearing a blue helmet with a giant A in the middle of it.

Anyway, there was a small frown on his face as he worked the communicator in his hands, obviously not used to this kind of technology. However, he'll get at least the basic video function working in a few minutes.]

Is... is this working? [Steve looked at the video feed with a somewhat confused expression. He was uncertain about using this thing in the first place, but with his enhanced abilities suddenly disappearing and the thought of the serum only being temporary because of that, he decided to use it. Besides, he wanted to find Bucky and the others as fast as possible. Sneaking around in this place didn't really get him anywhere.]

This is... Captain America. [He seemed a little awkward admitting that.] Does anyone the coordinates of our current location? Or a brief description will help as well.

I'm just worried about the safety of the others. [The last thing he wanted was to lose control of his strength and hurting someone.]

We worry over the same things. Usually put others before ourselves, right?

[By the Power, he can relate to that. Back home being a ranger and here as well. Going after Yao, getting in the line of fire with Makoto...yeah, that pretty much is Adam in a nutshell.]

Maybe that's why I've been stalling to get mine out. Who knows right now.

[He's a little surprised by that.] The chip's still in you?

Yeah, it's still there. It hasn't bothered me in the year I've been here; so far it hasn't lowered my ability to protect those I care about.

[Wow, a year in this place. That's quite a long time.]

What abilities do you have? Besides kung-fu.

[He doesn't say anything but he takes out his morpher and shows it to the soldier.]

Back home, they call me a power ranger. So you can say I'm a bit like a soldier except the enemies I fight are not from Earth.

[He looks at the morpher, definitely not recognizing it from anywhere.]

Aliens trying to take over the Earth? What year are you from?

I'm from 2007 but there's been rangers fighting against beings trying the same thing for years now. Two teams I know that are from a further future than my time so it's universal.

I...started when I was about sixteen. The rangers then rescued me and my friends and we became their allies until three of them had to leave.

[Anything beyond 2000 seems so far away. But Steve is glad that there are people still honest and brave and willing to defend the Earth like that.]

That's a young age. [Of course, people could enlist in the army at 17 with parental consent. Others lied on the enlistment form... like he did. Five times.]

The power doesn't look into how old you are but the potential you have. Trust me, I can give you a history but it might take awhile to do it.

[He...honestly has no idea why suddenly telling this stranger everything. But he seems trustworthy.]

[It still seemed a bit young to be 16 and fighting aliens. But it's likely that Earth has changed a lot.]

It was brave of you to take on the task. [Small smile.]

Brave had nothing to do with it.

Just doing what needed to be done?

[Steve nods. Well, that's definitely something that needed to be done. However, he should steer the conversation back to Discedo.]

I heard someone started but they never sent anything out to my knowledge. Plus, new ones seem to pop up often.

[Hmm, perhaps that's something he can help with.]

Well, it depends on what you want to do: there's a hospital running here in town as well as a soup kitchen in Dissimulo. Also, there's the Watch which I'm a part of and we make sure people stay safe in the cities.

There's no soup kitchen in Discedo?

Was at one point but the one running it got sent home. There's the Northern Lights bar run by a friend of mine as well as supplies dropped off here. Nothing fancy but enough to get by.

[He nods as he takes this all in.]

Has anyone made a map of Discedo?

[He holds up his communicator.]

[Sending file now and even has his up so the other man can see what's going on.]

[Okay now Steve is very impressed by this. He's looking at the map in awe.]

I didn't know that these visual telephones can display a map.

Technology's changed since your time.

Technology on Earth becomes this advanced as well? [He continues to look at the map.]
