Father's day! Ah, a lovely day, I will say; remembering the male who, hopefully, raised us all with love and care. No, I'm not about to ask all of you about your fathers--I'm not really the intrusive sort, though...! I do have a sort of puzzle for all of you. It's one that I would love to tell my own father.

PUZZLE 011: Two masked men

The puzzle works like this. I'm going to tell you a scenario, and using yes or no questions you must deduce exactly what is happening in this situation. I can only answer yes or no--or other variants of those two answers--so make sure to ask the right questions! No limit to how many you ask, of course... Here's your scenario:

A man leaves home and, after making three left turns, he ends up back at home, and finds two masked men waiting for him.

So, can you deduce what's happening here?

Whoa, that is awhile. But I bet there's been people from, like, the 1800s here before too.

No doubt! The scientists seem to know no bounds as far as time and space go. It's interesting, and disturbing.

Maybe all of our worlds work differently on the time stream...or something... [ hmmm ] Man, it's crazy complicated. If they want to fix up the city, shouldn't they just bring cleaning technology from the future or whatever? Haha.

((sighs!)) Well, when you think of it, all the theories go against each other. These so-called "scientists" seem friendly, and one could then believe they want us to rebuild and repopulate. And yet, they seem to enjoy sending us home as much as they enjoy bringing us here! We can't get a bloody thing started around here without them pulling the strings.

Personally, I'm running with the "experiment" theory, and all that they do and say is merely a ploy.

They've got to be lying about something. Y'know, when I first came here, I thought they were secret administrators from my school or something.

Haha, I was...pretty weird back then. It's a long story.

We probably are experiments, though. I mean, they usually seem to know what we're up to, right? Like they're always watching us.

I have absolutely no doubt they watch us. Given the nature of our communicators, especially; "use this". Hmph.

Yeah, see? They're definitely lying about something. I got no clue who they're working for, though. Especially since I think there were different scientists before.

...! Really? This is news to me, I've only known the ones of recent. They, ah, they fixed the train, if I recall.

Yeah, those guys have been around for...almost a year, I think. But when I first got here, there were some other guys. One of them smashed the machines in Spero. [ he says the last one in a bit of a dismayed tone ]

...Do you know anything about them? The old ones and why they couldn't continue their work?

Not really. The scientists we have now just sort of took everything over, but I guess they've been friendlier. Last year Eridan and I found one screening a movie, haha. [ OH THE MEMORIES ]

You should ask Marco or Cube. They've been here for as long as I can remember.

Hmm...! I'll have to look into that. The change in authority could very well be important to our development.

Hey, count me in! It's about time somebody actually figured out something about this place.

Hmm, indeed. Though at any rate it could easily have us sent home.

Figuring something out, you mean...? Yeah, probably. I guess I got used to this place.

Jeez, how big are they in your world? Do people just do them on street corners or something? Haha.

Less jest and more reality--I've met complete strangers who just love to bandy puzzles for hours.
