Father's day! Ah, a lovely day, I will say; remembering the male who, hopefully, raised us all with love and care. No, I'm not about to ask all of you about your fathers--I'm not really the intrusive sort, though...! I do have a sort of puzzle for all of you. It's one that I would love to tell my own father.

PUZZLE 011: Two masked men

The puzzle works like this. I'm going to tell you a scenario, and using yes or no questions you must deduce exactly what is happening in this situation. I can only answer yes or no--or other variants of those two answers--so make sure to ask the right questions! No limit to how many you ask, of course... Here's your scenario:

A man leaves home and, after making three left turns, he ends up back at home, and finds two masked men waiting for him.

So, can you deduce what's happening here?

It's the puzzles, I'm sure.

Jeez, how big are they in your world? Do people just do them on street corners or something? Haha.

Less jest and more reality--I've met complete strangers who just love to bandy puzzles for hours.

So I guess the only real difference between our worlds must be the time period and how much people like to do puzzles?

Yeah. I guess stuff that we think is normal would be really weird to everyone else, but we don't think about mentioning it.

Hmh, more or less. It helps a little to have this medium of Discedo. Things that are different we notice universally and can compare. It's like a cultural experience.

Ha, that's a cool way to think of it. 'Cos we all have a lot in common, too.

That we do, which is all the more surprising, I'd say, and not surprising in the least.

You mean...it's not a surprise that we would all be a lot alike, but when you think about it, we should all be a lot different.

Exactly that. Sasuke, I know, is from a different world, yet both of us are the same in every way.

Every way? What do you mean?

We all have legs, don't we? Arms, hair, voices to help us speak. Sure, there are a few anomalies amongst us, but don't we all share that same outline. Compare Marco with yourself and see all the similarities. We've both been raised to believe Norway was merely a country, yet here we are, working side by side with the entire nation itself. Somehow, he too has eyes, fingers, toes. It's not just human characteristics; it's human nature. In a sense we're victims to the reality that, no matter where we are or who we look at, it's people who exist all over the universe in every time line imaginable. Even here.... It's as though the bare bones of human nature is exposed. Those of us physically weaker need to leech off of the stronger; those of us mentally weaker but seek guidance. higher and higher this blasted hierarchy goes until we find ourselves completely ruled by these so called scientists. They govern as though they are our friends or allies; perhaps it's their own deluded ideology, but when you break it down to its very core, they're still power hungry. They bring in more subjects to rule over, and throw out the ones that cause too much trouble. That's what they do in every society, isn't it? Those in power--as soon as you become of no use to their cause, you're knocked of or thrown away. And us... look at all of us, subjected to this sort of game. We're all no different because we're all beaten down by some power stronger than us, and yet we all still fight back. They'll throw us out as soon as we stop playing.

((A nervous sort of laugh.)) This isn't some game of chess. It's a feudal war; a power struggle.

That is really crazy, though. I've never come close to thinking about it like that.

Crazy is one way to describe it... Though I suppose now you'll have the chance to let it bounce around in your head.

It's pretty dense, man. I'll have to see if I can keep it all in, haha.

Nah, it's not like I want to forget it. It's pretty great stuff.
