[If anyone's out and about in Discedo, they might be treated to the somewhat eerie sight of Gin skulking about in his ever-present long black, crow-like trench coat and matching fedora. His hair isn't let loose today, gathered and hidden underneath his coat. He looks mildly less threatening today, in as much as a shady man constantly followed by ominously cawing birds can look nonthreatening, as he carried a lumpy bundle of cloth (on closer inspection, it might be made up of a pair of shirts) that clattered and tinkled with a metallic sound as he walked. Judging by the place he emerged from, it can be assumed that the sound was caused by him lumping together so many tins of canned food into his makeshift bag.

He looks almost as unfriendly as ever, unsmiling and perpetually glaring, only every now and then, his glare falters and he reaches up to angrily knuckle his eyes.

Instead of heading back to Dissimulo as quickly as he normally did after acquiring what he needed, he milled about, walking aimlessly through the street.

Uh- [ Stiffening noticeably, Shizuo stands statue still as she checks them over, eyes pointed directly at the floor.

The only doctor he'd ever trusted was his friend Shinra. This was new. ] Thought it was just your legs. [ He snorts.

Glancing over at Gin though with a blank look, Shizuo then nods at Sakura and pulls the man along with him. ] Just like that? That's a load off. Or it will be once the old man's legs work right.

[ They follow quietly after her to their destination. ] Thanks, Sakura-san. We owe you one.

I'm not that old, brat. [His voice takes on a threatening edge, but it might simply be because Shizuo mocked him in front of someone else. It seems that Gin hasn't entirely forsaken his pride, especially when it comes to dealing with other people.

Gin follows awkwardly, wondering how much more he has to walk.]

((Her back turned, she frowns a little. God she just loves edgy people.

Well, anyway...)) Okay just set him down there. I should have.... what we need... right with me. ((she reaches into her pocket, and bam! She talks as she looks over each bottle.)) I'm just glad the scientists gave us extra supplies, with all the patients coming in we're all kinds of swamped.

Okay, so.. you'll have to take this. ((she hands Shizuo a bottle.)) It's kind of like a cough medicine, just make sure you take it every couple hours. It'll clear up on it's own eventually. If you don't use it all--and you might so it's okay--just bring whatever's left back to me.

You... Hmm... I hope you don't mind eyedrops? I lost my vision earlier and it helped clear it right up. Trying to help your legs is going to cause a few more problems, since I need a syringe...

Anything's fine. [Very gruffly spoken.] I don't care if I have to go under a knife, if it'll clear things up, it's fine.

[He'll hold out a hand.]

[ Eyebrow twitch. No, Shizuo, calm down. You owe Gin. He sighs out a clipped apology. ] Sorry.

Alright, c'mon... [ Doing as Sakura said, he manhandles Gin onto an examination table covered in butcher paper and grips his sleeves for a moment before stepping back. ] There.

[ Taking the bottle offered to him, he squints at the label. Too many words to read for someone who didn't care much for guidelines. Biting down on the cork top, Shizuo pulls it out with a wet pop and takes a mouthful.

Eyes slamming closed, he swallows thickly and turns away to cough haggardly, gagging once. ] AUGH, WHAT THE FUCK. [ Sputtering, he wipes his mouth and curses colourfully under his breath. ] Thanks, but this tastes like SHIT.

((Kind of chuckles.)) I never said it was going to taste very good. Just make sure you don't waste that.

Alright, I need you to just tip your head back so I can put these in. ((So she pulls up a stool and brings herself to Gin.)) Now just hold still while I do this.

((If you've ever gotten eyedrops during an eye exam, this is how it hurts. If not: it hurts.))

[And he might be wishing his eyes were the ones that went numb rather than his legs, because that does sting and feels very unnatural.

Still, he doesn't make a sound or fuss at all, or even change his expression, because if this is going to make him better, it doesn't matter.]

I'm won't waste it. [ He would take pansy sips now. Or mix it in with things. What a man.

Watching Gin's healing process, he holds his bottle of medicine tighter - he preferred the gross liquid. The eye drops just looked painful, he didn't like anything close to his face.

Making a face, he turns away a little. ] You said you were swamped patients, do you guys know what's causin' all this shit? Sounds like it's all connected.

Well....

((she starts searching the cabinets.)) By the sounds of it it's something airborne that's been causing all these symptoms. We breathe it in and it gets into our lungs and blood stream and starts doing, well, whatever it feels like. Though, I think the blindness is just from exposure so you might have these symptoms again. ((looks to Shizuo. as she produces a syringe. )) You, too, have to keep an eye out for it.

Anyway, once you guys are out, it might be advisable to wear a face mask. No guarantees it will work, but it might help. --Okay, this is going to HOPEFULLY jump start your legs, so don't be alarmed.

Fine. Just get on with it. [It's probably not a good idea to be so snippy with someone who is entrusted with your health, but Gin can't bring himself to care right now. Perhaps he's using illness as an excuse for his attitude or he honestly didn't care what she thought of him.

He simply didn't like chatty women.

Needles don't faze him. The pinpricks are nothing compared to bullet wounds.]

Sounds like a good plot for a scary movie. [ Shizuo snorts and corks his bottle. ] I'm not wastin' this in any case, even if it's motor oil. Think my eyes'll be alright since I've got the shades to cover 'em, but I'd take a mask.

[ He looks around and starts rummaging for something to do while she approaches Gin with the needle. The sight of the syringe didn't bother him either, he was used to it after having been hospitalized so many times as a child. ] Got any lyin' around?

[ He does find interesting things in the medical cabinets though. Like a jar of sugarless lollipops... he takes a few... stealthily. Which means he just kind of grabs a handful. ] Are these bein' eaten? [ They are now. ]

...You're going to have to remove your pants, you realize? I need to get the right artery.

((She then turns to Shizuo, and frowns.)) No? I don't think so, but honestly I have no idea how old those are. It'll be your own fault if you get sick from it.

[He lies there like he expects her to do everything herself, but rewards her words with a scowl.] Yeah, yeah...

[And he'll kick off his shoes, sit up, and drag his clothes down to expose his limp and functionally halfway-useless legs.]

So, do I have to give you my back or what.

[As always his questions are voiced more like gruff commands. Regardless of the place or situation, he always speaks as though he outranked everyone in his presence by default.]

[ Shizuo stares pointedly at medical supplies, totally so interested in everything going on away from Sakura and Gin. ] Suckers don't go bad. [ A pause. ] I don't think they do. I've got this medicine to back me up anyway.

[ He pulls at an ear speculum to investigate, then a stethoscope. ] Hey, you get jabbed yet? [ At the other side of the room there's a quiet sniff of amusement. ] Lemme know if you need me to hold him down.

Nah just stay still.

((AAANNND getting to work with that needle.)) Try not to rely on that medicine for everything.

And okay! It'll take a while but you should start regaining activity in your legs. You're welcome to stay here until you can move on your own if you want; it wont be more than fifteen minutes, I'd guess.

[He makes some non-committal, non-verbal sound in response to Sakura's suggestion.

Once she's through covering the site of the injection, he'll pull up his clothes.]

Hey. Thanks for the help. We know you were busy and that. [ He would outstretch a hand or something, but instead he just grasps for words. ] I don't have any money, though...

Do I look like I get paid? ((She's got that kind of smile on her face to match the statement.))

Anyway, is there anything else you two need? If not I need to go finish up some things.

Get his chip out. [Not so much as a "thank you" and still ordering people around, even when the choices aren't his to make.]

If we're free to stay here 'til we're cured, now seems like the perfect time...

[What about the other possible patients, Gin? All Gin seems to care about is how it's a relatively safe place and how it's possible to keep Shizuo under control here.]

Well if you ever need a hand... [ He trails off, surprised by Gin's comment. ] What? My chip?

[ Reaching up to rub his neck, he looks to Sakura. ] I'm good for it whenever you are. I get it if you can't now, you guys have been mighty busy apparently. [ He spares a tentative smile, just a twitch of his lips.

Gin was partially right. It was a safe place. But to keep him under control? He eyes Gin for a moment. ] I think more prep is in order. Like... straps or somethin'... [ He shifts under the attention on him awkwardly. ]

... Oh! That's right, I was going to remove yours... Shizuo, right? Hmm...

((She thinks a moment, steady, watching the air tentatively.))

Well, you're right. I really need to focus on other duties here for now... Why don't you stop by sometime in the next week and we'll get everything all set up? I know you're worried so I wouldn't want to discomfort you by being unprepared. Tie up all the loose ends.

[ His manly pride... he straightens. ] I'm ready whenever. But I won't step in on your work.

[ Looks to Gin. ] We'll stay here 'til you're ok walkin', then whatever comes next. You don't have to be around when I get this damn thing removed. [ He didn't want to hurt anyone.

He was already apprehensive about letting Sakura do this. ] Doc-san. Thanks. I owe you one.

Shouldn't take too long... [He tries to move his leg and bend his knee, just to see if it's gotten any better.]

Got nowhere else to be, so I don't mind. But, if that woman doctor's too busy, there's no harm in putting it off. [It's a rather flippant tone. And yes, doctor had to be preceded by woman like she's some novelty.]

((A weak smile; nope not a hint of anger here nope nope nope.)) Just Sakura is fine.

I'll leave you two be, then. If something weird comes up just get me again, just grab me quick.

[ Shizuo doesn't venture near the "woman doctor" comment. He knows not to mix inequality and girls. ] I'm not worried about it... a couple days waitin' can't hurt. We'll be in touch, I guess. Later, Sakura-san.

[ He gives a lazy wave to her before looking back to Gin, snorting. ] You're fuckin' rude! [ He announced, pressing a palm against his own forehead to assess the fever. He didn't feel any different. It'd probably take a bit to settle into his system. ] She's not gonna wanna help your ass out anymore.

[ Shizuo takes a seat in a rolling office chair and kicks back, sighing heavily. ] How're the eyes.

[Action; WHAT IS THAT LOOK SAKURA LOLOLOL "it's terminal"]
