#005 [ACTION]
[If anyone's out and about in Discedo, they might be treated to the somewhat eerie sight of Gin skulking about in his ever-present long black, crow-like trench coat and matching fedora. His hair isn't let loose today, gathered and hidden underneath his coat. He looks mildly less threatening today, in as much as a shady man constantly followed by ominously cawing birds can look nonthreatening, as he carried a lumpy bundle of cloth (on closer inspection, it might be made up of a pair of shirts) that clattered and tinkled with a metallic sound as he walked. Judging by the place he emerged from, it can be assumed that the sound was caused by him lumping together so many tins of canned food into his makeshift bag.
He looks almost as unfriendly as ever, unsmiling and perpetually glaring, only every now and then, his glare falters and he reaches up to angrily knuckle his eyes.
Instead of heading back to Dissimulo as quickly as he normally did after acquiring what he needed, he milled about, walking aimlessly through the street.
Care to approach?]

Re: [Action]
((She thinks a moment, steady, watching the air tentatively.))
Well, you're right. I really need to focus on other duties here for now... Why don't you stop by sometime in the next week and we'll get everything all set up? I know you're worried so I wouldn't want to discomfort you by being unprepared. Tie up all the loose ends.
[Action]
[ Looks to Gin. ] We'll stay here 'til you're ok walkin', then whatever comes next. You don't have to be around when I get this damn thing removed. [ He didn't want to hurt anyone.
He was already apprehensive about letting Sakura do this. ] Doc-san. Thanks. I owe you one.
[Action]
Got nowhere else to be, so I don't mind. But, if that woman doctor's too busy, there's no harm in putting it off. [It's a rather flippant tone. And yes, doctor had to be preceded by woman like she's some novelty.]
Re: [Action]
I'll leave you two be, then. If something weird comes up just get me again, just grab me quick.
[Action]
[ He gives a lazy wave to her before looking back to Gin, snorting. ] You're fuckin' rude! [ He announced, pressing a palm against his own forehead to assess the fever. He didn't feel any different. It'd probably take a bit to settle into his system. ] She's not gonna wanna help your ass out anymore.
[ Shizuo takes a seat in a rolling office chair and kicks back, sighing heavily. ] How're the eyes.
[Action]
A woman's a woman.
Makes no difference to me, I didn't want her treating me in the first place. I wanted to go home. You were the one who thought the hospital was a better destination. [Incredibly childish.]
Can't see a thing. Don't think we'll be cured that quickly.
[Action]
[ Watching Gin lie down on the examination table, Shizuo just leans against his armrest and holds his cheek in his palm, giving him a flat look. For an uptight guy, Gin seemed pretty trusting with him, but he'd likely be doing the same thing. Hell, he'd be asleep already. Old habits die hard.
A chill crawled up his spine and he wriggled into the coat more, popper collar reaching the tops of his ears. He had the energy to snort at the assassin though. ] This was the best idea I ever had. Gimme some credit for bein' a stubborn asshole about it or you'd be on your face somewhere.
Just hang tight then, close your eyes or somethin'. [ With that said, Shizuo unwraps a sucker to test one out. ]
[Action]
Hat's off to you, then, Heiwajima.
[Action]
[ He dimly registers that it probably isn't the best idea to sleep in a place like this, but he can't bring himself to care. Gin can have his rest; after walking around with those gimpy legs and poor eyesight, he deserved to have a nap. A bit feverish and tired, Shizuo entertains himself by poking around his communicator.
He wouldn't close his eyes until the assassin was awake; he didn't trust this place. Not when they both were vulnerable and chipped. ]
[Action]
When he wakes up, he opens his eyes, then shuts them again. The next time he opens them, he does it more slowly. His vision is returning, but it seems that his eyes need some time to adjust.
He turns quietly to look Shizuo's way.]
[Action]
His hand has slipped off of his face and he's trapped in some uncomfortable looking half-lean against the armrest, cheek squished against his bicep. The sucker has long since fallen to the floor, but the real tragedy is the damp spot of drool he's leaving for Gin on his trench coat's sleeve.
He's snoring lightly and despite his position, looks rather blissful... ] Mmn... [ But he's in a deep sleep, mumbling something incoherent. And he's always been a heavy sleeper. ]
[Action]
He stretches his legs out and then carefully attempts standing. Once he's on his feet again, he holds onto the edge of the examination table, staying still for a moment.
Then, he made his way over to Shizuo, as quietly as he could manage.
He stares down at him, still looking rather annoyed, as he decides what to do about him.
Deeming him too helpless and pathetic to punish, at least right now, Gin decided to simply push Shizuo into a less uncomfortable looking position. And briefly consider plugging his mouth with something to prevent more damage to his clothes.]
[Action]
[ He merely lets out a soft grunt and sound of protest before the comfortable position has him breathing a satisfied sigh. ]
[Action]
[He draws out his gun and examines it for a moment, seemingly not caring that the sound might wake him nor that the way he hovered over him would make him look suspicious to anyone who saw.]
[action] 1/2
The sounds of Gin's voice and the faint scent of metal are enough to rouse him, eyelids lifting groggily.
He stares at the man blearily, registering him in his mind. ]
...
[Action] 2/2
[Action]
Calmly, with no great change in his amused expression, aside from the sharpening of his cold gaze, Gin pointed the gun away and swiftly caught Shizuo's wrist with his free hand. He'll hold it firmly, but make no further attempt to restrain him.
He could explain himself quickly or drag this out for a little while. Mischief wins out over any sense of responsibility, so instead of giving him answers to soothe him, he'll drink in that savoury look of wide-eyed shock and ask a question of his own instead:]
... did you think I was going to shoot you? [The question is lightly, even casually asked.]
[Action]
It stops him from disarming the man before anything drastic can happen. He looks up at him, in a half-lean out of the office chair, teeth bared like a cornered animal.
Adrenaline makes his pupils dilate, near black as he pants quietly, trying to work over the situation in order to calm himself down. But Shizuo had been shot before, multiple times, and he wasn't going to sit around idly waiting for it to happen again.
Jerking his wrist out of his fingers, Shizuo rises and matches Gin's height easily, face the picture of fury. ] DON'T FUCK WITH ME!
[Action]
The calm, amused smirk pulls back to reveal a sharp, feral grin.
Those dull green eyes reflect about as much fear as they do light; none at all.]
Killing you won't make me any richer... and it sure as hell won't bring me any pleasure. [Killing someone in his sleep was too cowardly, to say nothing of how boring it was.]
Relax.
[He looks over his gun one more time, before pocketing it.]
[Action]
[ Shizuo has to literally force himself to look away, will his legs to move so he's across the room, convince himself that attempting to crush him isn't wise with or without his chip. He mumbles something under his breath repeatedly, the first sign of a few screws loose.
He paces for about thirty seconds, then slows and leans forward against one of the small office's counters, breaths heavy. ] Talk about somethin' else.
[Action]
When Shizuo calls for a change of subject, Gin's expression becomes neutral once more.]
I was going to ask you how your fever is. Has the medicine done its job?
Noticed you haven't been shivering or sweating as much.
[Action]
[ He notes dimly that he's still wearing Gin's trench coat and begins to undo it, shrugging out of it. He doesn't notice the drool, but if he did he'd probably be secretly proud of himself. Take that Gin. He finally shifts to stand with his side to him, eyes dropped, arm holding the jacket outstretched. ]
Thank you... for the coat. Thanks. [ A brief pause. ] And your legs? Eyes?
[Action]
He walks over and accepts his coat, throwing it on regardless of the mess. He'll clean it later.]
Fine, fine.
... so, how much do you know about this place now.
[Action]
Enough to still hate it, [ he replies curtly, expression flat, ] not much of a surprise there. I don't understand... you never think anything bad'll happen to you until it does... [ The side of his hand comes up to press just above his eyebrow, shaking. ] Then what? Then what?
I know a lot about this place now. [ He nods along with what he's saying, eyes trained on Gin's, wide and expressive. The full situation seems to be hitting him now. It only took a few weeks of denial. ]
And now that I understand, I don't wanna think about it anymore.
[Action]
The most you can do to prepare is to abandon all preconceived notions of what is and what is not possible.... this place'll break them all.
[He doesn't want to discuss it anymore, so Gin won't mind changing the subject.]
Got a weapon of choice. [It's not entirely divorced from the previous subject, so he doesn't bother with adding anything to smooth the transitioning.]
