[China's sitting comfortably near his low table with a puzzled look on his face.]

Last night I had a very strange dream. I was dressed in a female Beijing Opera costume and I was singing and dancing. Maybe I drank too much at the Lantern Festival, or something, aru.

[He pauses to drink some of his green tea, which was sitting in a teacup on the low table.]

By the way, what's this I keep hearing about memories? Are you saying the dream I had was actually a memory? [Guess who hasn't had any experiences yet.]

[OOC: Hey man, this is China. Anyone is free to view memories ranging from his (lonely) childhood, to his dynasties, the wars, present day, and the Christmas he spent with Stocking here in Discedo (since that's the first and only real memory he's recalled of Discedo so far).]

[A shrug.] I guess you'd have to see it first, just understand don't underestimate it.

The World Government alone would be ... If that is someone in a person form as you all are, that would be one person whom I would be very very scared of. And I think with all of Dragon's Rebellion cropping up... if I were a country... [Shakes his head.] The pirate emperors scare even me China. Japan tells me all the time how strong America is, and he's a lot like Garp, but even he is a lot easier to handle than one single pirate emperor.

[Sighs and shakes his head.]

No. They don't even need to invade, that's the problem. You'd be fucked either way. Without their support or protection, the only help you could get would be a pirate emperor. And an island could be economically crushed or forced to completely fend for itself, or isolated and ostracized the way Fishman Island is.

I've spent my whole career as a pirate fighting other pirates, slavers, the government, the whole damn ocean itself. The world's strongest individual country with the world largest and toughest army wouldn't --

[Just leans his head into his hand.] You remember the bombs Japan faced? The ones from America? In my world the Government has something similar called a Buster Call. Only it doesn't destroy one city. It completely destroys a whole damn island. My father's devil fruit could create earthquakes; tsunamis are something he could cause just by having a nightmare if he wasn't so damn careful. Had he wanted to he could destroyed the whole world just by himself. Yet even he had troubles facing the world government, even with me and my brothers to help him. And we didn't fight a Buster call, we fought way more force than that. We lost too. And not just because of them, because of a traitor. But that just makes it all worse, because Blackbeard betrayed the government too... but he has Pops devil fruit. And he does not have the old man's restraint.

And he can create black holes.

[Shakes his head.] Mah... there are... things I love about my home, but I really don't think you understand how deadly it is. That bomb that Japan had to face? I absorbed that radiation like it was Kizaru's attacks, because I'm a phoenix. To me, doing such a thing was nothing. But even I have a hard time in my world. It's a terrifying place. There is a reason only Gol D. Roger reached the end. Everyone else who's tried died before they ever could and the death and violence escalates every year as more determined and ruthless people join. It's not about having the best army, the best technology or being the smartest... We had that. You said it yourself, no one stays on the top forever, but in the New World, being on the top is a god damn illusion. If you're strong you have to fight with everyone just because some dumbass wants to prove he's stronger. Being a pirate in the New World isn't about being prepared to kill, it's about being prepared to die.

I've wondered that too sometimes, but I think geography plays a big part. Japan was able to close his borders as an island nation, but he risked losing trade and keeping up with the world as a consequence. A few very powerful islands have tried that, but they have to be one-hundred percent self-sustaining then. More often than not, the island's people will starve to death from trying, or internally destroy itself with wars and strife. There aren't really any nations in my world that span several thousand island, and "continents" aren't a thing. So individually you're almost all stronger than the countries in my world, but you've never had to deal with power that outstrips all 200 of your toughest countries combined. If you own the whole world, every country's greatest asset is yours, and none of the weaknesses.

There are... bigger weapons in my world, even worse than a Buster Call. Four of them that they say could each destroy half of the world alone in one shot if unchecked. The World Government does fear those, so occasionally a few idiot pirates will try looking for them, but their very mention is stricken from books, the language once used to describe them is also banned. Eh, they're practically a fairy tale, even by my standards. [Meaning someone who's lived the every day insanity of the New World and is also a mythical creature most people don't believe ever existed.]

Even without those though... devil fruits alone are very powerful. My Pops had a lot of islands he was protecting. Fishman Island, Foodvalten, tons of them. But with him gone, I don't stand a chance of keeping them safe. I'm not saying don't come to my world, just understand, even with all the power you can muster, it's not a place anyone could take lightly and survive.

[Wry grin, OOPS. Too late. Marco already intends to make it to Japan's world, and change all of human history to make it work for him if he has to. Yup.]

Perhaps, but that depends where you want to live too. And do you really think you could manage that kind of lifestyle China, much less maintain it very long?

[Quiet frown.] The tenryuubito keep slaves. All the nations banned it, but the world nobles are rather above the countries' laws you could say. Especially since their whims set the world governments' laws.

If they discovered you didn't age despite time and hard work, that's a very real danger.

[Grits his teeth. He might have gotten too personal there. Oops. And there's a light tell-tale fidget with his anklet.]

[Nods his head.]

If you're sure... [He doesn't sound so convinced himself, but he's not going to try to keep convincing China how hard it is. After all, he wouldn't listen to anyone else telling him how hard something was.]

I'd offer to give you a tour as well, but I'm not sure what islands will belong to who. Maybe when everything quiets down, eh? If it all quiets down...

And with luck it actually will.
