[China's sitting comfortably near his low table with a puzzled look on his face.]

Last night I had a very strange dream. I was dressed in a female Beijing Opera costume and I was singing and dancing. Maybe I drank too much at the Lantern Festival, or something, aru.

[He pauses to drink some of his green tea, which was sitting in a teacup on the low table.]

By the way, what's this I keep hearing about memories? Are you saying the dream I had was actually a memory? [Guess who hasn't had any experiences yet.]

[OOC: Hey man, this is China. Anyone is free to view memories ranging from his (lonely) childhood, to his dynasties, the wars, present day, and the Christmas he spent with Stocking here in Discedo (since that's the first and only real memory he's recalled of Discedo so far).]

I've wondered that too sometimes, but I think geography plays a big part. Japan was able to close his borders as an island nation, but he risked losing trade and keeping up with the world as a consequence. A few very powerful islands have tried that, but they have to be one-hundred percent self-sustaining then. More often than not, the island's people will starve to death from trying, or internally destroy itself with wars and strife. There aren't really any nations in my world that span several thousand island, and "continents" aren't a thing. So individually you're almost all stronger than the countries in my world, but you've never had to deal with power that outstrips all 200 of your toughest countries combined. If you own the whole world, every country's greatest asset is yours, and none of the weaknesses.

There are... bigger weapons in my world, even worse than a Buster Call. Four of them that they say could each destroy half of the world alone in one shot if unchecked. The World Government does fear those, so occasionally a few idiot pirates will try looking for them, but their very mention is stricken from books, the language once used to describe them is also banned. Eh, they're practically a fairy tale, even by my standards. [Meaning someone who's lived the every day insanity of the New World and is also a mythical creature most people don't believe ever existed.]

Even without those though... devil fruits alone are very powerful. My Pops had a lot of islands he was protecting. Fishman Island, Foodvalten, tons of them. But with him gone, I don't stand a chance of keeping them safe. I'm not saying don't come to my world, just understand, even with all the power you can muster, it's not a place anyone could take lightly and survive.

[Wry grin, OOPS. Too late. Marco already intends to make it to Japan's world, and change all of human history to make it work for him if he has to. Yup.]

Perhaps, but that depends where you want to live too. And do you really think you could manage that kind of lifestyle China, much less maintain it very long?

[Quiet frown.] The tenryuubito keep slaves. All the nations banned it, but the world nobles are rather above the countries' laws you could say. Especially since their whims set the world governments' laws.

If they discovered you didn't age despite time and hard work, that's a very real danger.

[Grits his teeth. He might have gotten too personal there. Oops. And there's a light tell-tale fidget with his anklet.]

[Nods his head.]

If you're sure... [He doesn't sound so convinced himself, but he's not going to try to keep convincing China how hard it is. After all, he wouldn't listen to anyone else telling him how hard something was.]

I'd offer to give you a tour as well, but I'm not sure what islands will belong to who. Maybe when everything quiets down, eh? If it all quiets down...

And with luck it actually will.
