But it's certainly appropriately badass for this birthday! Gotta say, this is like the second birthday in Discedo I've had where some part of me was altered and totally far out. The shadow wasn't even a hindrance either.

My last one... [ His expression falls for a bit as he remembers--sadly, bitterly, and worst of all fondly--of his present. The expression can really only mean one thing: it's got something to do with Tatsumi.

Well my first birthday here--think it was the first, anyway, it's been a while!--it was after I'd faced down with this Evil King. He kidnapped me, tried to overpower me by slipping into my shadow, but little did he know who he was messing with! He just couldn't handle the sheer freedom and justice of my soul, and he freaked out and had to jump out! Before I got to beating him up, I realized that his weirdo powers had turned my shadow into the exact colors of my flag! Man it was cool. Hard to be stealthy with it, but so cool. I even matched my girlfriend at the time! Hers was like, bright pink, and she was all self-conscious about it so I think having mine altered and having confidence about it made it a bit better for her.

[ America is one of those guys who will talk about exes in front of people who are interested in him and not realize what is wrong with doing that. ]

[Good thing Taiwan is actually pretty charitable about stuff like that, even if her face does fall at the thought - yeah, America had had a lot of different relationships, huh...?]

W-wow! I didn't know there was a magic that could do something like that! So everyone could see your shadow and know it was you from far away, right?

It must have been [gulp] really nice for your girlfriend, to have support like that...

Yeah, unless I was standing under my flag or something! It was weird. Dunno if it was magic so much as crazy demon powers. [ since he still has a hard time accepting magic as something real. ]

Considering Rosalyn was my big help with my fear of ghosts, it was nice to be able to help her with something for a change! Not that she needed a whole lot of help on the protection front. That gal could stab a squirrel through the eye if she tried! I think she was just kinda self-conscious. No idea why though, she was gorgeous and her shadow was rad!

Thanks but... and I don't mean any offense, but you're a country. Things between countries can't get too personal or they get ugly. I mean, just look at me and England.
