[You know normal people when things get them down drink, carouse, carry on, lock themselves in a tower and cry for ten years... Okay well maybe not "normal" but people other than Marco do that. Marco on the other hand, grabs a piece of chalk and makes a hopscotch set out in the middle of the most open non-plant infested piece of pavement he can find. And then of course he shows off, because when you can fly and do backflips like nothing, hopscotch is really easy.]

Oi oi, for the life of me I can't remember if there's a rhyme that goes with this, eh?

[Yes, completely showing off with a few backflips.] Anyway, someone want to come play with me?

[Feel free to mock him, yell at him for showing off, try to push him over... you know whatever.]

Aye. It suits him though. A sort of bounce-back personality.

[Wrinkles his nose.] Guess so.

I guess it's like warning the world how bouncy they are.

Hm. [Damian nods in agreement. Then stretches his arms up above his head and proceeds to do a few small stretches for his back.]

[Just tilts his head.]

What are you doing?

Making sure that my back's okay after the hopscotch thing. [Short pause and he gives Marco a thoughtful look.]

Do you want to see the stitches?

Ah good, I wouldn't want you to pop anything.

Sure, are they hurting or just itching?

Man I do not envy you people having to take forever to heal things.

I know typically how much movement can be exerted without breaking a stitch.

[Damian turns around and lifts up his shirt.] They do itch a bit, yeah. [A long line of thick stitches is visible along the total length of his spine. There are also a multitude of other scars over his body, though most have been looked after enough at their inception that they are barely visible.]

Do you heal faster then, being part bird?

[And if Marco gets a chance to sneak a peek at Damian's front as well, there are thick surgery scars in the t-shape of an autopsy incision on his chest.]

Itching's good. [Takes a look to make sure they aren't bloody or anything. And he takes notes that there almost as many scars as his Pops has.] That means they're healing. Hurting's bad, it means it's getting worse. That much I remember.

[Marco rubs the back of his neck.] I'm a phoenix. Things in general don't damage me the way they would anyone else. There's a lot to it, the curse I mean.

[Tilts his head back to regard Marco.] A phoenix? Like the legends? Aren't they usually red?

[A small pause to consider.]

That means you can't die, right?

[A shrug.] I haven't met another phoenix so I couldn't tell you what colors they are or not.

Aye. Or at least, it's incredibly difficult.

Neither have I, but that's what I've read about them.

[Shrugs and starts to pull his shirt back down as he turns around the face Marco again.] What can kill you, then?

Yeah? What do the stories say?

[Small grin.] Sorry, not something I give out. I suppose my family knows, but only through knowing me, eh?

Oh, you know, reborn from the ashes, all of that. [He doesn't actually sound too concerned about it.]

Hm. Beheading usually works for most things.
