[ Hello, Discedians. It's been far too long since we had Drawing Adventures with Hong Kong, hasn't it? Since we're overdue for more, here we go. This time, it's a special occasion!

Okay, it's a little past due, but Hong Kong had a few other things on his mind when this was relevant. So now you get to go on a lovely adventure with him.

And… if you're a young'n, you might want to look away. Pretend this is a picture of bunnies and butterflies frolicking through a field of pretty flowers!

What it actually is, is some slightly questionable artwork of… England.

Yeah, Hong Kong is that shameless. He already got Japan, so his not-dad is apparently next on The List.

The first of these is a lovely and mostly subtle image of England with Portugal. Well, you'd only know that if you know Portugal, because most of the features are obscured, except for one or two key ones. C'mon, there's so much… UST.

No, there's no UST like the next drawing. The two kings of UST, no matter what France says about America. This is the best one, because it has the most attention to detail (and is probably the most explicit, since France would surely like that). Following that is one of England with Spain, though this one is again a little sketchy. Hong Kong doesn't really hang out with Spain a lot.

Or ever, really.

There's a definite pause here, like he's trying to decide what next. Oh, how about lady France? She was pretty cool. He considers lady England, but first, that's almost too much, and second, she'd probably find a way to kill him dead. Sorry dad, he's way more afraid of her. :'| ]

Yeah, we've got a lotta work and sometimes, depending on where you wanna go, it's not such a good idea or someone thinks it's political or whatever.

There should be a better middle ground, eh?

Yeah, like, literally.

Maybe that's something everyone should work towards. We've got a few places in my world like that. Sabaody is both no man's land and everyman's land all at once practically. Although it's kind of more accidental.

Accidental middle ground is better than nothing at all.

Aye, but it's not someplace you'd normally want to meet anyone. Well, depends on who you're meeting. Sometimes that's still worth all the slavers, bounty hunters, marines and the rest.

Really? I guess it makes sense. Everyone's definition of middle ground at home is whichever place gives them the best view.

Best view of what?

Everything they wanna own.

Maybe one of your world meetings can agree on a place of true neutrality.

I'm pretty sure they've tried already, but no dice. There're some places that are supposed to work like that.

Because any time people get involved, things change.

So? That still means it could change for the better, eh?

Yeah, that's true. I think we're all pretty optimistic, really, when you think about it.

Really? [He's not sure he believes that yet, so it requires elaboration upon.]

Yeah, considering what some of us have seen, I'd say our outlook's good.

Everyone hopes for a better future?

Yeah, even if they have different ideas about what it looks like, I guess.

I guess that's pretty optimistic, eh. Besides, from what I've seen, everyone is working to try to make that happen too. For their people and vice versa.

So do you have hopes for the future beyond ones previously discussed?

I have to keep some secrets, don't I? [ He's so innocent, really. ] I've already been pretty rebellious lately.

Far be it from me to dissuade that, eh?

It hasn't exactly been super-effective lately, but I won't stop.
