Dear Clive,

I'm putting this into words because I cannot bear to say it to your face. This isn't something I want to mess up. When I see you the cold days here become a little warmer.

You possess so many qualities that henceforth I bore little to no appreciation for. Your mind is a thing of beauty. I don't want to forget the time we've shared. It's hard for me to say this, but… I want you to return to my world with me, to live with me. I don't have much but what I do have is all yours. I'll provide any comforts you desire so long as you agree. Please understand that I want you to be as happy as you've made me.
I dream of one day holding your hand as we watch the sunrise in my world, together until it sets, of lying in the tall thrushes with you and counting the stars.

We'll be happy always, I swear it. No matter what threatens us, I'll crush it myself. I'll always keep you safe from harm. The hearth will be warm and the table will always have food on it. I would fight an army for you.

I steal glimpses of you every chance I get. I don't think you understand how I've been suffering inside, masking it to avoid causing you any discomfort. I've seen your body, its perfection. I saw your excitement, just the other day. I wanted to be the one to make it all better for you, to offer you relief and enjoyment in a way that no other could.

To you this might come as a little bit sudden, but for me it feels like it's taken far too long.

Do you remember when we were stuck under the mistletoe together? You had come to the hospital, to visit me… It's been so long since anyone's done anything like that for me. Besides, even if they had, back where I come from it would be too difficult for me to accept that kind of attention. Is it selfish to want it from you?

You're a kind person, perhaps too much so. Still, I couldn't keep this quiet any longer.

Ah. [ That smile is sort of nice, though personally he still has his doubts. Will she really do it? ]

She seems to have calmed down considerably, anyway. At least compared to how she was when he first came into the room. ]

Would you like tea?

[ She asks in Japanese. I am way too lazy to go and find the actual sentence shush. He has been speaking English since the start of the conversation. It's her turn to struggle for a little while. ]

[ That's a little surprising, but not unwelcome. He pauses for a moment before nodding. ]

Ah, sure. Green tea, if you have it. [ He also speaks in Japanese, specifying 'ocha' rather than 'kocha'. It's okay Japanese is hard. ]

[ She pauses a moment, to think of the words. ]

Okay. I will see if we have Green tea. [ She nods then, disappearing to make some tea. Luckily, it seems they do have some Green tea! So a short while later, she brings a cup of it out to him, cheerfully. ]

[ Luckily Sasuke is a pro at entertaining himself by doing absolutely nothing. Brooding maybe. He looks up when she returns, taking that cup with a little nod of acknowledgement. ]

Ah, thanks. [ A pause. ] Your Japanese is better. [ He continues to speak in Japanese himself, using short and simple sentences. ]

[ She beams at the compliment. ]

I am glad! I have...been working hard.

[eyeforaneye]

[ He brings the tea up, subtly smelling it as he makes himself more comfortable. ]

Do you write it too?

I know...[ She stops to try and find the words. Though she's not sure if they're the right one's, so she goes with a safer sentence. ]

I have not tried.

I see. [ Sasuke switches to English, for her benefit. ]

It might be hard, for you.

Is it terribly different? From written English, I mean.

[ She switches back to English, as well. It seemed like the conversation would be easier to have, if they were both speaking the same language. ]

... You want to see? [ He can show her, after all, just how massively different it is. ]

On here -- [ He points to his communicator. ] -- or on paper.

I would like to see, yes! [ She pauses. ] Though it's up to you whether it's on paper or not.

Whatever is the most efficient, hm?

[ Sasuke pauses, mulling it over. He can't exactly show her stroke order on a communicator, can he? Wordlessly he stands, setting down that tea momentarily as he moves away and disappears into his room. He returns with a simple notebook and pencil, given both by Hong Kong for his own studies. He again sits next to her, opening it to a blank page. ]
