[Because it's Dick, albeit a young Dick that he doesn't really know, Damian is willing to part with some of his plans.] I might build a temporary Bat Bunker, and I want to get started on a few tech pieces because this place is woefully unsupplied-- I'm just trying to settle on a suitably secluded place right now.

[He smiles, approving of Damian's plan]

Sounds like a good plan. And this place looks like it has no shortage in the secluded places department. What kind of tech are you making?

I kind of miss the flying Bat Mobile. With the resources here though I may just want to think a bit smaller and make a flying cycle instead.

And I want to look into seeing if it's possible for me to manufacture solar energy here.

Well you're certainly ambitious.

I did it once, didn't I? Granted, the resources here leave something to be desired in comparison to back home, but I'm good at working with what I've got.

Not the base of the car, obviously, that worked just fine. But I made it fly, yes. [Damian seems to have a knack for engineering like that.]

Still impressive. I'm better with computers than engineering, honestly.

[Waving a hand dismissively.] I'm fine with computers too, I just prefer hands on.

I guess that's part of the standard Robin training. I'm starting to feel less special every time I learn more about the future.

[He says this lightly, but he still has some issues with being "replaced." God help any Batman he runs into.]

Tt, you're fine. You become Batman, after all.

And none of the Robins will ever be quite as fucking bouncy as you either. [Although Dick does his best to teach Damian in that regard...]

Um, thanks? [It's true that the other Robins he met aren't exactly optimists]

So what kind of Batman am I? I mean, I still act like myself, right?

You tried to act more like him at first, but eventually you settled down.

So the world has to contend with an annoyingly chipper Batman? I can't even imagine.

[But it's a relief to hear-- he managed to be Batman without losing himself]

I think the Commissioner appreciated how much more willing you were to work with them then dad was.

Well, the Commissioner is a nice guy. We go way back. His daughter is one of my best friends, after all. Well Dick Grayson's best friend.

[Damian just makes a face at Oracle being brought up.]

[He smiles and sits on the ledge]

Let me guess: you don't like her because she doesn't put up with nonsense. Because she doesn't care who you are. She treats you like everyone else.

But that's why we're best friends.
