They're a family line. Gol D. Roger the pirate king, Monkey D. Garp the hero of the marines, Portgas D. Ace my brother, Monkey D. Luffy his brother, Monkey D. Dragon the Revolutionary, Marshall D. Teach the scum of the universe.
They all eat insane amounts, and they're infamous for accomplishing the truly impossible.
[As for Naruto... well Marco's of a few minds about it, but only one thing to say.] I see.
Probably. And the secret hiding location or codes to recreate weapons that could destroy half of the world each are hidden in that language. It's still overreacting.
The world government wouldn't leave those things hidden. They'd try to hold the world in check with them. Even if they think that pirates might try to steal the weapons, they already have a buster call to use against the pirates.
They're hiding something they're worried will hurt them. They don't give a damn about people.
I'm not going to go around killing all marines for what Akainu did. Akainu killed Ace right in front of us. It was still Ace's execution though, and all the marines were meant to fight and kill all of us, but Akainu was the only one who did it by going after Ace's little brother so that Ace had no choice but to die so he could save him.
Even the rest of the marines have more honor than that.
Ace's grandfather is a marine, the hero of the marines [Practically spits the word.] and he stopped me from rescuing Ace in the middle of the war, but even he wanted to kill Akainu after what he did, and he held off Blackbeard when we needed it. Not for our sake, but it still helped.
If you kill at random you lessen yourself. They have the rule we all must die for being pirates, and I don't want to prove I'm "better" than them, but killing any marine just for being a marine lessens the impact of who and when I kill. I kill to send a message, don't fuck with my family and we will avenge our own. Killing a random marine just for being a marine isn't good enough. Most marines are weak, it's like killing an ant. And it sends the wrong message. The world already sees us as villains, but they see us as villains who never let one of our own get hurt without punishing the offender. If we killed people who didn't do that, then it stops mattering. We might just kill anyone anyway so what they do doesn't matter.
We're not the weak kind of pirates who slaughter to make a name. We kill when it will have the most impact. When it damn well means something. No, I don't question marines, and if we're in a fight I'm not going to rescue them like Ace would. [Ace is nicer than Marco.] But I'm so much stronger than most of them that killing them is pointless. Even fighting Kizaru I didn't try to kill him, because he hadn't killed any of my family. I just blocked him from hurting them because that's how strong I am.
If you have to kill without knowing if you successfully even got the right people who fucked up, you're too weak to pursue such a thing in the first place and I don't think you are.

Of course they're usually Ds in my world, so that puts them in a different category altogether I suppose.
Don't expect him to be an ally, just don't shut the door either, eh.

If he fights me, it will be more than a shut door.

But yes, they're alike on some things, different on the rest. Heroes, my family, and backstabbing traitors.
They all change the world though so the government fears them. Part of the accomplishing the impossible thing.

Pirates seem to be good at pissing people off in general. [ Always such blunt observations. ]
[filtered 70%]
We try.
But the government is easy to piss off.

Are all marines that way? No. Most, not all.
