It has come to my attention that our time here together has grown into something much more than what we have at home. Perhaps it is a forbidden sort of love, but I believe that is what causes it to burn so strongly! Forgive me if this is far too sudden, but I will wait as long as it takes for Hong Kong-san to be ready for such a thing. Please contact me as soon as this message is received. We do not have to stay in a place such as this with so many limitations...

As Japan's communicator sends this message out, he'll just be on a walk and checking out Ace's old warehouse. Feel free to run into him along the way or come find him, otherwise he does have his comm with him!]

[Chuckles in a birdie way and nuzzles for apology now that they're level again.]

Marco should realize I am far too old for such things. [He just doesn't stop with that, but he does pet Marco along his neck again.]

[Sideglance and veers sharply just for that comment.]

Coroo? [Is that so?]

Do not try to say Marco is older than me. I believe it's quite obvious when he talks that he is not.

...And yes, I am too old for flips... Or... ah, I am not sure of the terms.

[Chirps another warning, but doesn't do much, just speeds up.]

Does it bother Marco?

[He leans closer (and holds on tighter), still a bit nervous.]

...Dangerous stunts in the air prove nothing, so please do not try them.

[SMIRKS EVILLY and does a quick loop, not too dangerous, just levels out.]

It proves nothing! Nothing! I will let go next time!

[fierybluebird]

[Rolls his eyes and soars up a little higher. If Japan is going to jump, he'll have lots of room to catch him at least.]

[fourseasons]

[Damn... Yeah he's not crazy enough to jump in this case. He just holds on tighter and there's probably a groan.]

[fierybluebird]

[Looks back a little worried and nudges gently, to ask what's wrong.]

Do not do any more tricks. [DOES THAT ANSWER IT.]

[fierybluebird]

[Shrugs. He won't. Except to maybe change back to human in midair, but no, he doesn't actually want to give Japan a heart attack so he just nods and heads over the plains looking for monsters to catalog and so Japan can take pictures.]

[He notices the path, but still hugs close to Marco, frowning to himself thoughtfully.]

I will never forget how Marco looked back there.

Kree?? [A questioning headtilt.]

[fourseasons]

That possessive sort of look. [His voice is getting quieter, but he's moving his face closer all the same, shifting so it's resting in the right spot.]

That anger, and I believe fear, as well.

[fierybluebird]

[Glances away again, stoically quiet, just focusing on flying and letting Japan talk. One of his favorite parts of being in full phoenix form is that he doesn't need to explain himself. Or can't anyway.]

[It worries him actually. Being that possessive. He trusts Japan so it shouldn't be so big an issue, right? And if this is how bad it was in February, Spring would really kill him at this rate. Was it worse without his brothers? They were a calming influence, reminded and forced him to spread himself a little thinner instead of devoting so much insanely attentive energy to one person. Maybe he just really needed to spend more time with everyone else in Discedo, so that he didn't feel so wholly dependent on Japan for his every ounce of happiness.]

I was worried for you.

[He closes his eyes now, just focusing on the feeling of flying again. And hugging Marco.]

At the same time, I selfishly felt happy. That someone could care so much... Words have their own weight, but action holds more impact.

[Mumbles something in phoenix and leans back to nuzzle Japan again. He can't really tell him anything, but it's okay, he's out of words, so he'll just leave it to Japan to pick up the mood from the atmosphere.]

[It's partially because Marco can't talk that Japan's choosing to say these things now. His grip tightens just a bit as he buries his face in the back of Marco's neck.

He doesn't say anything this time though, but he feels like he needs to be trying more for Marco's sake. On a lot of things.]

[Keeps snuggling, though a little worried for Japan in return. Is he sad? He said he was worried for Marco... how does he tell him he's doing better now? Even if it's half the discussion, half because of flying? Marco gently gives Japan a phoenix kiss and croons a quiet short little phoenix song.]

[He opens his eyes at that, bringing a hand up to brush Marco's face softly. It's a complicated sort of feeling, and so it's probably hard to tell just what is on his mind. But as he curls his fingers there at Marco's neck, he'll speak.]

Once you are able to speak, please promise that you will be alright. ...Ah... both here and at home.

[At home. Where Blackbeard was going to hunt them all down. He was terrified of it. Clinging to the promise that he would come for Japan. That was why he was so desperate that Japan believe in his capacity to do it. If he could do the impossible for Japan... then everything else would be a cinch.]

[Marco soars up higher suddenly and carefully, holding onto Japan, switches into a hybrid form, capable of hovering like that for nearly a minute worth. He kisses Japan quickly, keeping the wings beating, though they drop altitude a little.] I promise love. Believe in me. I will never let you down. [And anything more than that is too risky, so he switches back to phoenix, with Japan on his shoulders again.]

[That's so startling, but it gives him such a rush that he's left speechless for a minute. So he slips his hands back around Marco's neck and hugs tightly.]

...I am glad.

[Laughs at his face and snuggles happily, with a chirping cry and sings to him in phoenix a certain song Japan once sang him.]
