Puzzle 002 - [Video/Action for Dissimulo]

Look what I found!

[Luke moves the communicator to reveal an armful of cute little white blobs. They bear a striking resemblance to the Professor, little Luke, big Luke, and Flora. Luke himself looks like he's stopped by the Drug Store - not because he needs anything, but because he's pretty sure he was being followed on his way home.]

They don't look harmful, and they were out here all by themselves. I couldn't just leave them out here with all the monsters. Anyway, I should be home soon - oof!

[Luke falls to the ground without warning, the communicator falling out of his reach. He grunts as he tries to stand up, only to find that he can't move his legs.]

W-what...

[The Mochis scatter as Luke tries to crawl towards the communicator, trying not to panic why can't he move his legs! To make matters worse, a strange plant with sharp teeth sprouts out of the ground and lunges forward. It stops inches from Luke, teeth snapping. While it doesn't look like it can move any closer, it doesn't stop Luke from freaking out and trying to back away.]

Aaaaaaahhhhhh!!

Oh... oh my! Try to remain calm, and especially stay out of range of that plant! Umm... if only you had a torch or something...

I-I can't stay calm, it's gonna eat me!

Well... not if it can't reach you! It's a plant right? So it has to stay where it's rooted? Just make sure you don't let it get to close to you and should be alright...

B-but I can't move my legs!

C-can you at least move your arms? ... Or your torso? You might be able to drag yourself away... or maybe roll if worst comes to worst.

I can still move my arms but...are there more of them?

I... I don't know... the best move is probably to stay out of range of that one... you might be able to throw rocks at it. Some of the monsters here can be vulnerable to even small physical blows at times, so maybe the same hold true for monster plants. I wouldn't get too close to it to throw something like a boulder at it though.

I-It's all right. I don't think it can move any further.

Oak evolution!

[There was balls of energy shot towards the plant with the mixture of razor leafs with the attack. Lightning had next to no effect with the new plant life that's been around as of late. So, she didn't use her other attacks. Makoto been taking care of the growing problem. Luckily she heard Luke yelling and she wasn't too far away to come see what the problem was.]

[All Luke hears is a shout, but he doesn't look up. Even after the plant's been defeated, he's still covering his head with his arms.]

[Makoto looked around for a moment to see if there were anymore of the little beasts. Thankfully there weren't. She didn't mean to frighten the boy anymore than he was already was. She walked over to him and kneel down to see if he was all right.]

Hey. Are you okay?

[Luke doesn't lower his arms, but he does open one eye.]

...Is it gone?

Yes, it's gone. There's nothing else here.
[Thankfully. Least the plant was grounded. If there were some walking around and in groups it'd be a problem. She guessed for his size it would have been a quick meal.]

It's okay. I promise.

[Luke slowly lowers his arms, but for some reason he's still not getting up.]

Did you get rid of it? Thank you, miss.

Mmhm, I'm glad I happened to still be in the area. It's no problem.

[He didn't look like he had any injuries from what she could see.]

You're not hurt are you?

Uhm. Something's wrong with my legs...

Your legs...?
[She looked down at them. The brunette didn't think he had gotten hurt. No rips in the clothing if the plant did get to attack him. He didn't break anything did he? Her hand came down to rest on his leg and shake it a little.]

Can you feel that? Does your legs hurt at all?

[Luke shakes his head.]

I can't feel anything...

A-am I going to be okay?

[That was worrisome, though it would have been painful if they were broken, right?]

Hm...they might just be numb. A lot of odd occurrence has been going on as of late. Here, hold on.

[She put an arm under the boys legs and one behind his back so she could lift him up.]

[This is so embarrassing, but he is grateful for the help.]

Does it have to do with all the plants?

Uhm, thank you, miss.

[Oh, don't worry Luke she's done it to men as well whether they liked it or not.]

Could be or maybe the ones that seemed to be 'alive'. The pollen in the air has been thick. It may have something to do with it all.

[Not that she can think of another explanation.]

How awful...I hope no one else got caught in all this pollen.

What a worrying display. [ Cue his surprise! But those mochis were so cute as well... no, boy in danger, focus. ]

Have you received any assistance yet, young sir?

[A little while later after Luke's been rescued, he can be seen standing upright again.]

Y-yes I have, thank you. My legs suddenly gave out on me for some reason.

That is wonderful to hear, certainly.

Ah, pardon my manners. My name is Macau, a special administrative region of China. [ Because who doesn't introduce themselves like this? ]

I'm Luke Triton. Uhm, it's nice to meet you, Mr. Macau! Although I wish the circumstances were better.

If I might be so bold as to contradict you just a little, the circumstances are not as bad as they seem. Truly. It's quite a lovely place if you are open to it.

Lovely? This place? It's crawling with monsters and the city looks a mess!

But many great civilizations began in similar ways. Please, look at it in a different light.

We are pioneers here. Explorers. We're bettering this place for others.

I-I guess so, but it'd be nicer if they just asked us instead of bringing us here first...

You're very right about that, though some people might benefit from being here that would be too afraid to volunteer on their own.

[ Holy kittens--Freaking out! ]

L-Luke, are you alright? Do you need help? Because...because I can come help. [ More like try to help but you know. ]

N-no, miss Flora! It's too dangerous - argh!

[Luke tries to lean back, away from the plant monster's snapping jaws.]

Oh, hardly. I've been in plenty of dangerous situations round here, and I'm not about to let you get eaten by a plant!

[ Yeah screw being to scared to go outside, she's going to grab her pipe and go help Luke out. ]

B-but, miss Flora-!

[Yikes, that plant got a little too close that time. Luke flails a bit and tries pushing himself away. As much as he'd like to protest, there's little he can do until she gets here.]

[ It doesn't take her all that long to find her way to him, and when she does she marches right over and whacks that plant with a vengeance . She's had enough of this monsters-trying-to-eat-people nonsense! ]

You get away from my friend this instant!

[Luke just watches this in wide-eyed shock. He...

kind of

feels useless right now.]

W-watch out, miss Flora! Don't let it eat you!

[However the pipe did do some damage! The plant turns away from Luke with a yelp of pain, before turning its attention to Flora.]

It won't get the chance.

[ She can take it!!!! Probably. She'll ready another swing as soon as it tries to do anything else. Take that, monster! ]

[And it's down! Does Flora deliver the finishing blow?]

[ She finishes that thing off without a second thought.

And then turns back to Luke. ]

Are you alright?

[Luke's a little in shock here.]

I-I'm all right, but my legs aren't working...
