[You know normal people when things get them down drink, carouse, carry on, lock themselves in a tower and cry for ten years... Okay well maybe not "normal" but people other than Marco do that. Marco on the other hand, grabs a piece of chalk and makes a hopscotch set out in the middle of the most open non-plant infested piece of pavement he can find. And then of course he shows off, because when you can fly and do backflips like nothing, hopscotch is really easy.]

Oi oi, for the life of me I can't remember if there's a rhyme that goes with this, eh?

[Yes, completely showing off with a few backflips.] Anyway, someone want to come play with me?

[Feel free to mock him, yell at him for showing off, try to push him over... you know whatever.]

Just what sort of situation has Marco gotten himself into?

[There's a hint of scolding, but he allows him to guide him towards the bar.]

[That half-giddy laugh again and he hugs a little tighter.]

Ah believe me, that knowledge has kept me from getting in an even deeper mess. I remembered our discussions about the puppy before, eh? And I'm definitely not going to try to tame him. And anytime I feel myself slipping, I just remember you. It helps.

[Leads inside, opening the door for Japan and rubs the back of his neck.] Shit, make sure you see Luffy too... He... He's really had it rough. Ah, one of his nakama showed up, so hopefully it'll get better... but we ran into more skin thieves when we went our expedition.

Ah, I plan on it. Hong Kong-san, as well...

[And others of course. He frowns. Skin stealers noooo]

...We have time to speak about this, ah but... I apologize for disappearing.

Good. He really misses you too. Ah... and Taiwan got killed so he was ... [Bites his bottom lip. He promised Japan he'd look after them. Fail.] That was awful. She took almost as long as Kaitou, but she is back and okay now...

I almost didn't save your sake. I did though. Others like it and well, they haven't stopped by. So we're in luck. And I have tea for England and some green tea of course.

[Marco will be pouring himself a stiff drink though.]

And love... I know you couldn't help it. [His eyes shine a little extra as he hops over the bar, a small burst of blue flames to help make sure his landing is perfect and light, and more importantly: doesn't crash anything.] I mean I still got...

[Worked up? Scared? Terrified. Marco hates being the one left behind, but it's never intentional.] It means a lot to me that you're here now.

So what'll it be? Tea? Sake? Something new? [Another small laugh.] I haven't even shaken the habit of fishing enough for both of us, so if you want I have the ingredients for sushi too.

He's frowning a lot, but he stays silent as Marco speaks, finally only doing so when he's addressed in question.]

Let's just have sake for now. [Just a drink, no meal, he just wants to sit and talk...]

Good. My thoughts exactly. [Grabs one of the bottles, two sake saucers and gestures to one of the tables. He grabs a deep breath as a he takes a seat, seeming to steady just from that and shoots a grin at Japan.] Nice to see we're still in sync, eh?

Please do not speak as if such a thing would change.

[That's supposed to sound reassuring. He tries. But he moves to take a seat.]

Even if I had not remembered...

[It's actually very reassuring, and Marco grins instantly at it.]

Mm. That's why I love you. [Spoken simply and earnestly and Marco nudges his chair to be close to Japan's.] Well, one of a trillion reasons. Starting with this is actually the happiest I've been in months.

[Pours them both some sake.]

[HE'S BEEN TRYING NOT TO but he blushes just a little.]

I would like to believe Marco can be happy while I am gone, as well... Ah, I mean, he should be.

[Looks down at the sake for a bit, back up at Japan and quickly kisses his cheek.]

I'm not catatonic. Ah, that first week you went home before when decades passed back in November, I was pretty bad. This time, I knew you'd be disappointed in that, so I keep moving. If I want to see you so much again, then I have to take measures to ensure I will, so that keeps pushing me forward. And Luffy was... in a bad state so I was looking after him. And everyone else from the Expedition. I had to kill Cube's doppleganger so I was looking after Flandre the first week... and that was the biggest help I guess. [Swings his feet a little.] And then back to running this place. The weather went crazy while we were gone, it flooded, plants sprouted everywhere....

It's busy. Not the same as happy, but not miserable.

How's home? It's always beautiful in Spring, right?

[There is a lot of Japan quietly listening. Once again he speaks when Marco asks him a question.]

I am still a bit busy with some things... But the cherry blossoms were nice as always. I walked with Pochi to enjoy them.

Hah... Pochi... That sounds nice.

[He tilts his head though, trying to hear an answer to a question he didn't ask. Spring was bittersweet he'd always said and Marco didn't like the idea of Japan being lonely even if it wasn't him there personally.]

You wouldn't be asking me to do something you have troubles doing yourself, would you? [Quietly sips his sake.]

[He smiles just a bit at that as he finally takes his sake. That's the way he asks questions...]

I cannot recall Marco while I am at home. Does it truly count?

I'll fix that.

Japan... I promise. I swear it with my all, I'll never stop working to that goal. [Locks a leg discreetly around one of Japan's and takes in another deep breath and lets go slowly.]

I think I'm getting closer. More of Flandre's friends from Gensokyo are showing up and I think if I use that to get to your world, the only step is finding you in person and making sure you know it. And England...

I'll find a way.

[He sets his sake cup down calmly before turning to take Marco's face in a hand, tilting it his way for a slow kiss. Yes look at how daring...]

Please recall that time is what we both have plenty of.

[Just melts into it, closing his eyes and leans his forehead against Japan's.]

Aye. [Small shy grin as he opens his eyes back up.] You always know exactly what to say, don't you?

Marco thinks too highly of me...

[shucks. but he lowers his hand a little slowly, bringing it back to his sake cup.]

I am quite certain I only see what's due, and even then not enough. That's how you continue to surprise me, eh?

[Shakes his head with a fond grin.] Even trying to imagine what you would tell me while you were gone, I was never this accurate. You know me better than I know myself. Isn't it only fair that I can do a small part of that for you as well?

I tried my best to leave a note that would help Marco, but perhaps it was too short. [That might be a 'sure' or something. Maybe.]

[Hugs him around the shoulders with one arm.]

It's more... could I ever tell you enough in a note?

Ah, I haven't stopped moving forward, that much I promise. I think I just missed our tea times really.
